Governor Jack Dalrymple has proclaimed April 30th - May 4th, 2012, as Severe Summer Weather Awareness Week in North Dakota. This annual event encourages the public, businesses, schools, and government agencies to focus on being prepared and being informed about severe summer weather.

During the week, National Weather Service, North Dakota Division of Emergency Management and North Dakota Emergency Management Association along with other agencies, including Pembina County, recommend that the citizens of North Dakota keep informed of the various means of alerts. These alerts include outdoor warning sirens, radio and television broadcasts, weather radios and cable interrupt alerts.

Pembina County will be testing outdoor sirens on Wednesday, May 2nd between 11:00 am and 11:30 am.
