The Pembina County Department of Emergency Services office provides a countywide system for effective mitigation, preparation for, protection from, response to, and recovery from, manmade or natural disasters. The office prepares and maintains a county emergency operations plan which provides for:
• Alerting and informing the public,
• Assessing disaster situations,
• Activating volunteers,
• Supporting emergency response and,
• Restoration and recovery
The office also coordinates with the North Dakota State Division of Emergency Services to provide emergency planning, training and program assistance to county disaster plan functional coordinators and local emergency responders.
Finally, the Department of Emergency Services office collaborates with statewide Homeland Security initiatives for awareness, preparedness, prevention and response.
